This workshop will cover basic programming techniques and creativeapplications of Arduino-type microcontrollers. Participants will learn howto communicate with hardware using the Arduino development environment.Topics to be covered include:- Microcontroller basics: what they're made of and how they work
- Structure of a sketch (the Arduino equivalent of a program)
- Controlling input and output devices, e.g., switches and LEDs
- Analogue-to-digital conversion
- Serial communication
